Oh Good Shepherd, feed your sheep. Currently listening to Bach's New Years's Day cantata, in a its glory - Soli Deo Gloria, as Bach wrote at the end of his works. Indeed.
I have read that there is a thought that the Magi brought frankincense, myrrh and turmeric. This makes sense, as turmeric was as precious a medicine as frankincense and myrrh. I had long wondered about gold, and was interested to learn that there might have been a mistranslation, given the colour of both gold and turmeric!
If fixed a major jaw infection using Frankincense, rubbed into the gum, and dropped on to the head of an electric toothbrush to massage in.
Far cheaper than a dentist. Where we are there have been no vacancies at NHS dentists for years, and doctors have to refer oral problems to your dentist. Many no longer have one.
Actually, for Catholics, the Christmas season ends on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (this year, January 12). Years ago, it ended on the Feast of the Presentation, in February, which the Vatican continues to observe. That’s when Christmas decorations in St Peter’s Basilica and Square are removed.
The review of the Boston Cecelia concert apparently erroneously attributes the source as the Arundel Manuscripts, which would be later than the Protoevangelium of James:
"And I [Joseph] saw a woman coming down from the hill-country, and she said to me: O man, whither are you going? And I said: I am seeking an Hebrew midwife. And she answered and said to me: Are you of Israel? And I said to her: Yes. And she said: And who is it that is bringing forth in the cave? And I said: A woman betrothed to me.
And the midwife went away with him. And they stood in the place of the cave, and behold a luminous cloud overshadowed the cave. And the midwife said: My soul has been magnified this day, because my eyes have seen strange things — because salvation has been brought forth to Israel. And immediately the cloud disappeared out of the cave, and a great light shone in the cave, so that the eyes could not bear it. And in a little that light gradually decreased, until the infant appeared, and went and took the breast from His mother Mary. And the midwife cried out, and said: This is a great day to me, because I have seen this strange sight. And the midwife went forth out of the cave, and Salome met her. And she said to her: Salome, Salome, I have a strange sight to relate to you: a virgin has brought forth — a thing which her nature admits not of."
We must All Remember this Christmas time & season, that, We are not orbiting the sun. That the sun is not 93,000,000 million miles away, and the sun, is not the center of the cosmos, like the jeWsuits, church, pope, and holy see tells us!!!
Amen 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙌 Om Swastiastu 🕉 Rahayu Rahayu Rahayu !!!
Praise God for the blessing of Christ Immanuel celebrated at Christmas. Dwelling longer on the miracle is a great gift to enjoy.

Currently listening now, thank you for this recommendation!
Thank you for this wonderful gift of a piece to start off the very first day of the year!
I came across a new phrase - Twixmas. The time between Christmas and New Year, when no one knows what day it is!
What a beautiful event. What a beautiful celebration. What beautiful words. What beautiful art. Thank you.
Why aren't I getting presents on the 5th January, that is what I want to know.
We are Old Calendar Orthodox - for us, Nativity falls on the 7th of January, and Theophany is on the 19th this year!

Backed it up with oil of Myrrh as well.

Correct, but the season of Christmas is 40 day's, ending the 2nd of February with the dual feast of the Purification and Presentation.

Thank you for the lesson
The Midwife's Tale - Years ago (2009?) I heard this piece by James Woodman on WCRB, Boston's classical music station. https://www.choralarts-newengland.org/composition/midwifes-tale.
https://www.choralarts-newengland.org/composer/james-woodman. The theme was the birth of light. I've never found a recording but perhaps Boston Cecelia has an archival recording.
