The Hebrew word you mean. New Testament is written in Greek and the Greek word for messenger is angelion - hence the connection with the word we use in English. And I believe in the Septuagint Greek translation of the Old Testament widely used and quoted by the Apostles also uses this Greek word.
I'm a Jew. When I say the Biblical word, I mean the Hebrew word. I did wonder when I wrote that whether the Greek word derives from the Septuagint and us the reason Greek also subsequently uses the same word...but I don't know classical Greek etymology...
Great question! It is in fact precisely for this reason that there is a widespread Rabbinic view that Malachi is a pseudonym. Indeed some attribute the book to Ezra.
It is certainly very interesting and informative to read about the 9 Types of Angels and their background. But it's even more exciting to work magically with them. Healings and rituals with the 9 Types of Angels. Huge spiritual developments posible. We offer seminars on this topic also in English. Attunements enable incredible energy work.
I had the slightest knowledge about them, only that there were nine orders. Now I do know. By and by, I am still reeling from the atrocious article about the razed buildings. A real shame, such wanton destruction of beautiful constructions!
Although it can be hard to see how Archangels and Principalities aren't in the Second Order of Angels. Maybe there is just some overlap between Orders One and Two as well as Orders Two and Three?
Is there a corresponding hierarchy of deamons?
Christian / fallen angel demonology coming soon... 👀
The Biblical word for "angel" is malach (מלאך) which means "messenger."

That’s really interesting. Would you know if that word is also the root of the name of the prophet Malachi?
